Hello there! 👋

A huge shout-out to Ken Haycock, Executive Director of Better Boards. Better Communities, for buying me coffees last week and supporting my projects. ☕❤️

Today, I'm writing to you for the 50th time! Honestly, I think writing a newsletter is one of the best decisions I've made this year. Every single message from you is deeply appreciated and treasured.

Thank you once again for sticking with me for so long and showing your appreciation by sharing my newsletter, emailing me when I skip sending one, buying me coffees, and in so many other subtle but kind ways! 🙂

I built this newsletter as a hobby using a simple No Code stack, but it eventually became a side-hustle. Although I studied Data Science and know how to code, I have never written a line of code to make all of this possible.

I'm surprised at how far No Code has come and how it empowers Indie Hackers and Side Hustlers like you and me to create and monetize small projects so quickly!

Swapstack (the start-up I work at) helps newsletter writers monetize their work through brand sponsorships. It is built entirely on Bubble, a No Code tool. It still amazes me that we help creators earn over $100,000 per month without writing a single line of code. Plus, we don't even have an engineer on our team (not even part-time)! 🤯

A few months ago, I tweeted about my newsletter landing page stack. Here are a few other No Code tools that make this newsletter possible:
  • Figma for designing a Landing Page.
  • MDX to host my Blog and Newsletter. (I moved away from Carrd for now, but it served me really well. I grabbed their Black Friday offer last month in a heartbeat! Check it out.)
  • EmailOctopus to send my newsletter
  • Notion to store my Newsletter Archive
  • Google Sheets to accept sponsors
  • Testimonial to host my Wall Of Love
  • BuyMeACoffee to receive coffees and love from you guys!

All of this was made possible only after I became active in the "No Code" community on Twitter and learnt from the best!

I partnered up with Seth from No Code MBA to bring you today's issue with an exciting offer! If you're interested in exploring No Code, there's no better place to start. So, here's a word from our sponsor:

Text Blaze: Eliminate repetitive typing and mistakes. ⌨️
Text Blaze
Text Blaze: It's a text expander tool. Keep things simpler and faster with Text Blaze.

If you're sending that same "Thank You" email or a "Follow-up" email over and over to your acquaintances, this will save you tons of time in the long run!

Easy-to-use templates with endless customizability and powerful automation. All with full control at your fingertips.

👍🏻 Advantages of using Text Blaze:
  • This is especially useful if you're a writer, freelancer, marketer, editor, basically it's for you if you spend most of your time on the keyboard. Now a days, who doesn't?
  • It has a free chrome extension for all its users.
  • One of the cool features about Text Blaze is that you don't have to remember all the shortcuts you create. Just right click on any text field and it will show all the shortcuts for you.
  • I use it for Thank You emails, Onboarding emails, DMs when I reach out for any help, promoting a product, etc. It all depends on how creatively you want to use this tool to save time.
  • You can also customize it with different attributes like Names, Places, etc.
  • You can simulate clicks and key presses with Text Blaze.
  • They also have "Autopilot". It helps you to automate actions in a webpage, submit forms or navigate between different fields.

👎🏻 Disadvantages of using Text Blaze:

Honestly, not many disadvantages I can think of. It delivers what it promises.

My only ask is that they create more tutorials and start something like "showcase" in their community so we all know how to use Text Blaze to its full potential.

3. A Lesson in Friendship

This has to be one of the warmest blogs I have read on Farnam Street (a website that usually discusses Mental Models).

Shane Parrish, Founder of Farnam Street, recollects what he thought Friendship was and what he learnt over the years about being a good friend.

Spoiler Alert: Hiding your struggles from your friends is weakness, not strength.

Whether you love Nicholas Taleb or you hate the man to your core, he always has something to say that makes you think.

In this article, Nicholas discusses why one shouldn't be in someone's debt and how not having enough skin in the game leads to all sorts of problems.

One statement we both agree with: "Also, I cannot understand why anyone would spend any amount to enhance their social status."
