As part of efforts to promote the use of space technologies in ESA Member States and Associate Member States, the Agency has published an Announcement of Opportunity for Technology Transfer Feasibility and Design proposal (hereinafter called “AO”). The AO aims to finance activities in order to assess the transfer opportunity and to reduce the business and technical risks pertaining to the transfer undertaking.
It is highlighted that such technology transfer activities are going to be implemented in two contractual phases (for more details please refer to Appendix 1 to this ITT):
1. A Transfer Opportunity Assessment where the technology transfer opportunity will be validated - “Phase 1”;
2. A Design and breadboard testing where the business plan, and the technical Design will be completed (including breadboard verification testing) - “Phase 2”.
Through this AO, the Agency invites Tenderers to submit proposals for the full activity (both Phase 1 and Phase 2). The proposal shall include a detailed programme of work for Phase 1, and a preliminary outline programme of work for Phase 2. The detailed programme of work for Phase 2 shall be developed during Phase 1. This AO is addressed to both, tenderers that have not initiated the transfer opportunity assessment or that have already elaborated some aspects of it (see paragraph 1.4 (1) of the Detailed Proposal Template).
